Here in the Midlands of South Carolina we are well into the pest control season for honey bee management.

It’s time to begin pest control. For wax moths, manage internal volume as we enter the period of declining population by removing space so bees can adequately cover the frames. For SHB, you have multiple methods such as oil traps, dry unscented Swiffer pads, hive tool whack-a-mole, vacuums, and/or interrupting their life cycle with soil drench, DE, or bait. Choose one or more. Pictured: Pool salt and GrubX.

Stress reduction for bees. Reduce pest pressure on your bees through pest management. Kill SHB at the source – as they seek to pupate in the ground.
